About Jason
Jason Hernandez is a lawyer, but wine lovers know him as the person who prosecuted notorious wine counterfeiter, Rudy Kurniawan.
As an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York, Jason led the investigation and successful prosecution of Rudy Kurniawan, who was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment for counterfeiting tens of millions of dollars of wine. As a result, Jason has gained keen insights into matters of authenticity and provenance in the wine market. He also has incredible stories to share.
Jason graduated from the University of Michigan and Columbia Law School. Today, Jason is a shareholder at a law firm in Miami where his practice focuses on commercial litigation. He is also a Senior Consultant to Hart Davis Hart Wine Co. Over half of his cellar consists of red and white Burgundy, with Champagne, Rioja, Northern Rhone, and other old world sites in constant competition for second place.
